Kaleidoscope is seeking a lawyer with knowledge of standards practices relevant to non-profit/charity legal documents in Canada who can advise us on how to operate a registered charity in Canada.

In line with our mission and vision, we encourage people with lived and living experience of mental health concerns to apply for this position.

The Kaleidoscope Mental Health Support Society offers peer-run mental health support groups. Our aim is to provide a safe(r) space where anyone is welcome to participate in a growing support network. Our hope for attendees of Kaleidoscope are to be listened to, to share personal experiences and discover shared experiences, gain knowledge about appropriate resources, and learn skills and strategies from the wisdom of group members, contributing to positive mental health and the effective support of others.

Kaleidoscope started in 2010 as a student-created, student-run mental health support group at the UBC Vancouver Campus. Kaleidoscope has since expanded to offering multiple groups per week in multiple postsecondary institutions and in the community, and we have our sights set on expanding even further. To help us expand, Kaleidoscope is embarking on the journey to charitable status, and we are seeking the knowledge and expertise of an accountant to help with this process.
