Administrative Support Assistant 

Parkinson Canada is the definitive voice for the Parkinson’s community in Canada. Our purpose is to transform the lives of people living with Parkinson’s. We do this through research leading to better treatments and the end of Parkinson’s, advocacy bringing the voices of Parkinson’s to the forefront and support that helps people live well with Parkinson’s through education and services. A national registered charity, Parkinson Canada operates through the generosity of donors and is an accredited organization under the Imagine Canada Standards Program.

The Opportunity

The Administrative Support Assistant plays a critical role in strengthening the administrative and technical functions of the Volunteer Engagement team. The assistant will work to organize and input data and help maintain the volunteer platform. This person also provides as needed client support over the phone or email to volunteers struggling with the platform.

As an Administrative Support Assistant you possess a strong desire to make a difference in the lives of People living with Parkinson’s. You bring a keen attention to detail and an appreciation of organization and process. Your task focused working style and empathetic demeanor would be an asset to this role. 

What is Needed to Succeed in this Role

•	Task focused and goal oriented working style
•	Ability to carry out administrative tasks 
•	Able to take on repetitive tasks while staying focused
•	Strong communication skills including active listening  
•	Commitment to model inclusion and respect for diversity  
•	Customer service experience and strong interpersonal skills
•	Enthusiasm to work closely with Parkinson Canada staff  
•	Comfort working online and virtually
•	Access to computer, email and phone. 


The schedule is flexible  and the opportunity is completely remote. We are looking for someone who can commit 7+ hours a week. You must occasionally be available during regular business hours (9am-5pm) in order to complete training and have opportunity to interact with Parkinson Canada staff, however much of the time is flexible and can be done at your own convenience.
