2024 Walk Committee Member

2-4 hours / weekly
Join thousands of Canadians who are making their steps count on May 26 by participating in our 20th anniversary of the Walk To Make Cystic Fibrosis History. Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s largest fundraising event takes place in local communities across Canada and brings us together with one goal – taking a step toward creating a life unrestricted by CF for ALL Canadians living with cystic fibrosis.

Walk Committee members (must be 18 yrs+) work both independently and as a team to execute a successful, fun and safe event. Committee positions descriptions are set as general guidance to what areas may be needed for each Walk location. Committee roles are flexible and can be tailored to fit the size and needs of the event, as well as the strengths and interests of other committee members. You may focus on one or more of these areas, based on event needs and your interest. 

Areas of focus on the committee include:
-Recruitment & Registration
-Volunteer Coordination
-Marketing & Promotions
-Fundraising & Sponsorship

Ideal Qualifications
-Strong organizational skills
-Ability to problem-solve and adapt to changing circumstances during the event planning and day of event
-Detail orientation
-Excellent communication skills
-Experience working on fundraising events is an asset
