Board of Directors - Alberta Representative - - Camp Quality Canada

5-15 hours / monthly
-
Camp Quality Canada is a network of volunteer driven "community camps" which offer free programs for children affected by cancer and blood disorders. Camp Quality seeks to turn life's challenges into adventures for these children. The summer camp experience provides an opportunity for our children to "just be a kid" and not be defined by their disease. Each camper has their own volunteer "companion" which makes the CQ experience very special.

Camp Quality Alberta, located near Red Deer, is on of the 7 camps across Canada. The national CQC Board of Directors provides governance, oversight and leadership to the organization and the national Executive Director.

The Alberta representative of the Board of Directors will act as a champion for CQ in the province and also a voice for local Alberta campers, families and volunteers to the Board of Directors. This Board member will also work with the CQ Alberta Camp Operating Committee volunteers who focus only on CQ Alberta at the local program level.
Additional Details & Skills Required
A new Board member orientation will be provided. A summer visit to Camp Quality Alberta will also be required. Board members are asked to consider travelling to Toronto 2 times a year to meet with the Board in person. Travel expenses are reimbursed if required.
Certification or Education Required
Board or Committee volunteer experience is preferred.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
This is a leadership opportunity to help ensure that Alberta children affected by cancer and blood disorders have a much needed summer camp experience.
