Help is needed: Mask Sewing
People in your neighbourhood need your help.
In support of Sea to Sky Community Services (SSCS), United Way Lower Mainland (UWLM) is currently recruiting local neighbourhood volunteers to assist with the SSCS distribution of SPARK education packages to homes in Squamish, prior to their upcoming online SPARK education program; https://seatoskykids.ca/resources/spark/ This is a 5-week volunteer role, beginning November 1, that requires approximately 1.5 – 3 hrs / week of volunteer time. Once a week, on 5 Mondays, approximately 20 – 40 brown bag packages are to be picked up and distributed to families in Squamish neighbourhoods, before the end of day on Wednesday (ending Dec. 2). Volunteers have 3 days to complete delivery of these packages. The “volunteer shift” is flexible, will take approximately 1.5 – 3 hrs. depending on addresses, and can be done when you have time between Monday – Wednesday, each week, for 5 weeks. Volunteers will require transportation (either by foot, bike or car) for the neighbourhood they will distribute to, and will need to sign a Sea to Sky Community Services “Volunteer Consent” Form. If you are interested to volunteer your time, in a “socially distanced” volunteer role (with packages that have not been touched for 72 hrs), we will follow-up with an email and phone call to answer any questions and confirm details.
Once a week, for five weeks volunteers will pick up packages from SSCS to be delivered to 20 - 40 homes in a squamish neighbourhood. Deliveries to be done Monday - Wednesday, at your convenience. First pick-up is November 2.
