The SNN (Squamish Nonprofit Network) meets for one hour, every 2nd month, and meetings run smoother if there is a volunteer to chair the meeting. Meetings are informal sharing and networking opportunities, with occasional educational community speakers. or presentations. The Volunteer Chairperson will coordinate and chair SNN meetings between 5-6 / year). Duties include meeting room (or online Zoom) arrangements, group email notification of meeting; reminders and agenda (using a MailChimp mailing list) and subsequent meeting notes, as needed / helpful. The Chair may be asked to arrange a speaker for a meeting, or help other nonprofits to coordinate a speaker within the agenda. The Chairperson may also be asked to update the email list with new members from time to time. Typically this role requires 2 hrs / month of volunteer time, and can be done virtually.
Duties include; room bookings, agenda writing, group emails (using mailchimp), hosting and leading discussions during meetings, distribution of notes / minutes post meeting.
Experience in coordination and leading meetings is an asset, but not required if you are eager and willing to learn!
Chairing this bi-monthly meetings enables you to learn from and connect with our community nonprofit organizations. Develop your communication and collaboration skills and network to achieve not only your goals, but the collective goal of community betterment. Help others to network, collaborate and learn every second month during the one hour SNN meetings.
