We are looking for dedicated volunteers to join our board to help guide our organization. As a board member or member at large, you will have the opportunity to help shape the direction of our organization, Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas, a non profit environmental charity and make a lasting impact in our community.  The goal of the Friends of the Saskatoon Afforestation Areas Inc. is to help restore and protect the 326 acre Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area and the 148 acre George Genereux Urban Regional Park for the enjoyment of classrooms, youth groups, eco-tourists,  park users, and the general public. 

We are looking for volunteers who are passionate about our mission and have a commitment to making a difference. As a board member or member at large, you will have a voice in decision-making, be able to share your skills and expertise, and be an ambassador for our organization.

From attendance at board meetings a determination can be made as to further place based volunteering, and programming ideas.  As a board member you can have the opportunity to  help conduct tours in the Saskatoon afforestation areas, document plants and animals on the free smart phone app iNaturalist, provide insight for environmental and heritage education plans, plan speaker sessions live or virtual and activities for the general public, schools, youth groups to engage in as well as help promote and market the organisation.  

This position could involve some or all of the following oppportunities.
