Sierra Youth - Executive Committee Member

/ yearly
Part/full-time: Part-time, ~5 hours per week
Volunteer position
Must be between ages 15-30
Must live in Canada

We are looking for a motivated, passionate, collaborative person to join our Executive Committee (ExComm). This includes helping ensure follow-through of the podcast, fundraising, knowledge mobilization, and political/ legislative involvement.

Ideally, this person will have relevant experience that draws from the established principles and goals of the Sierra Club. By ‘relevant experience’ we do not necessarily define that solely by previous formal work experience, but rather any life experience related to the environment, fundraising, NGO’s, law/policy, activism, teamwork, creativity, or organization, for example. We would love for this person to be creative with ideas for the Club, and to take initiative on projects in a part-time position.

Responsibilities:
Capacity for 5 hours of work/week, including ExComm zoom meetings
Taking part in the podcast, fundraising, knowledge mobilization, and political/legislative movements
Ability to work cohesively in a team while providing unique strengths
Interests in taking initiatives to enhance the club, and working independently on delegated tasks
Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
Commitment to thoroughness and accountability
Strong personal values of kindness, compassion, willingness to learn and unlearn

Compensation:

We are a volunteer-based team, and no prior formal experience is required. We want to offer an opportunity for youth to get formal work experience and to build a portfolio with the support of a strong organization! If you have a portfolio of work you are proud of, we would love to take a look.
