People in your neighbourhood need your help.
We are looking for a dynamic hard working Secretary for a Non Profit Organization. Even though we have been building the organization for a few years now, there has been lots of work accomplished by many people and we are very close to getting to a point of infrastructure. If you have time to offer and have clerical skills with a computer at your deposal. The person we are looking for needs to be able to take the term for 2 years and be versatile in offering ideas and skills to the business meetings. The job consists of taking minutes at our meetings, typing them up and sending them out to the members before the next meeting. Keeping the minutes on file in order, taking care of of the overflow of correspondence. Typing and sending out letters on behalf of the agency. Communicating with other agencies and companies when asked. There maybe times you are asked to back up the Treasurer if there is an overload of paperwork. This position will take up one meeting a month for about 2-3 hours, and any typing from that meeting. If there is an emergency meeting called, you will be asked to attend to take minutes; those are very rare. The minutes have to be out one week before the following meeting. This is not a demanding position but a very important one because all minutes demand on what is happening in our organization for referral basis. Your time and input is respected and any extra volunteer hours are calculated and go towards matching dollars for Government Grants. If you think you fit this description, send us your resume, we are looking forward to meeting and having you as part of our team.
If the Volunteer decides they want to step outside the position of Secretary, and do some fundraising with us; they have a choice to join us doing those fun things also. These hours will be calculated as hours towards Government Grant matching dollars.
