Help is needed: Mask Sewing
People in your neighbourhood need your help.
Reduce seniors' social isolation during the COVID 19 pandemic through regular check-in phone calls. Friendly Callers work from home to provide seniors with a friendly, informal chat and foster a genuine human connection to help combat lonliness and isolation. If you have a warm and friendly demeanor, are non judgmental and empathetic and want to support seniors in the community, then this valuable, volunteer role is for you. Friendly Callers provide information and resources that are available to assist seniors during the pandemic. Friendly Callers should have the ability to work in Word document and participate in virtual training sessions. Time commitment is 3-4 hours a week for a minimum of 4-6 months, depending on the duration of the pandemic..
Orientation and training is provided along with on-going support from the Friendly Call Coordinator.
Provide support and human connection to seniors who are practising physical distancing and social isolation required to fight the COVID 19 virus. Devoping relationships between seniors and their Friendly Callers is a win-win opportunity for both participants.
