15 Sir Winston Churchill Square, Edmonton, AB, T5J 2E5 [map]
2-3 hours / weekly
Ongoing
Friendly Callers are needed to reach seniors in the community who are feeling isolated and who may not be connected in the community. The pandemic has magnified the issues of isolation and loneliness for seniors. Sage Seniors Association's mission is to support seniors to be the best that they can be and this role assists in fulfilling that mission. Callers will connect with seniors to have a conversation, develop a rapport and support them in making further connections.
If you have a warm and friendly demeanor, are non judgmental and empathetic and want to support seniors in the community, then this valuable, volunteer role is for you. Friendly Callers should have access to a land line or cell phone and a computer and the internet plus the ability to work in Word document and participate in virtual Zoom training sessions. Time commitment is 2-3 hours a week.
