Reduce seniors' social isolation during the COVID 19 pandemic through regular check-in phone calls. Friendly Callers work from home to provide seniors with a friendly, informal chat and foster a genuine human connection to help combat lonliness and isolation. If you have a warm and friendly demeanor, are non judgmental and empathetic and want to support seniors in the community, then this valuable, volunteer role is for you. Friendly Callers provide information and resources that are available to assist seniors during the pandemic. Friendly Callers should have the ability to work in Word document and participate in virtual training sessions. Time commitment is 3-4 hours a week for a minimum of 4-6 months, depending on the duration of the pandemic..
Additional Details & Skills Required
Orientation and training is provided along with on-going support from the Friendly Call Coordinator.
