community advocates are responsible for contacting community members, interviewing them, identifying their needs, and working with them to resolve issues. Advocates would always work in groups of two and be supported by a case manager and debrief and resource support volunteer. Community Avocates will -Build relationships and be the main contact with community members -Schedule and conduct a detailed interview with community members and take detailed notes -Follow up regularly with and report to Case Manager throughout the case process -After the path forward is decided volunteers will take action as decided (drafting letters, complaints, connecting the person with other services or agencies) and will connect with the person as appropriate
Qualifications and Relevant Skills: -Ability to interview community members and document findings -Ability to transform client information into formal complaints The ability to work well and collaborate with others on projects -Patience with listening and supporting persons with limited English language skills -Patience with the length of time to support and gather information,
