Help is needed: Mask Sewing
People in your neighbourhood need your help.
Hope Cottage Ltd are currently looking for enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate people, willing to help our Health Care staff at our group homes. Hope Cottage Ltd has been contracted with AHS Mental Health and Addictions for 26 years with the role of providing personal care to our resident suffering from mental illness/ disorders and brain injuries. Our group homes are small, limited to a maximum of 6 residents, allowing for close personal care in a home like settings. We believe maintaining strong close relationships with our residents allows us to provide the best possible care. We do this while allowing them as much independence as possible and actively encourage them to do things for themselves and engage with others and their surrounding community, knowing they have our support if it is needed. COVID-19 has affected our residents greatly as they have been isolated from friends and family while many of their programs, community services and groups have been canceled. The impact this has had on their mental and physical wellbeing has been greatly felt. Our staff have also been put under enormous strain as the demands of this pandemic grow. They have done an amazing job keeping our residents safe while providing extra activities trying to eliminate their boredom and frustration. This is why we now seek help from willing volunteers, to help both our staff and residents get through this pandemic. You maybe asked to fulfill a number of roles including but not limited to; recreational coordinating, companionship services, mentoring and tutoring. You may also be asked to assist out Health Care Aids with their duties like cleaning and cooking etc.
Experience in health care would be beneficial

We are willing to take suggestions of new recitational activities and want you to work with us as a team member to bring the best possible care for our residents.
