HASA is seeking up to three (3) volunteer Board Directors who will serve one or two three-year terms, up to a maximum of six consecutive years. The Board meets regularly on a quarterly basis via videoconference or in-person. Board Committees meet on an as-needed basis. Based on the competencies of the current Board, the desired skill sets are one or more of the following: • Governance: experience with, or demonstrated knowledge or expertise in, board governance and strategic planning. • Communications & Marketing Experience in marketing, communications, public relations, social media, information technology and interacting with the media. • Government Relations: Knowledge of effective advocacy, public engagement strategies. A desired attribute for all candidates is accurately reflecting the full diversity of our community. Responsibilities • Attend an orientation meeting (via zoom) to become familiar with the Board’s responsibilities, and HASA’s mission and programming. • Engage during quarterly meetings of the Board of Directors. • Contribute on at least one Board Committee. • Be prepared to assume a Board leadership role if requested • Comply with all board policies. • Identify and declare any conflict of interest or potential conflict of interest.
