The Give for Good Foundation is looking for a board member to support them with marketing, communications, social media management and community engagement. This opportunity presents the chance to be involved with a real-world project to put your creativity to the test! Give for Good Foundation is a new registered non-profit society in Alberta working to help alleviate the effects of poverty by connecting goods and services from those in our community who have to those who are in need. Additional benefits of this application include increased community wellness and a reduction of waste in our landfills associated with these items being recycled/repurposed. ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES ● Create and manage a team that can generate content on a bi-weekly basis on all social media pages and accounts. ● Deliberate planning and goal setting of measurable social media results. ● Development of brand awareness and online reputation. REQUIREMENTS ● Lead the marketing/social media subcommittee designed to move our strategic priorities forward. Attend Monthly Board meetings (2hrs each) as well as the Annual General Meeting Board members terms are 2 years with the opportunity to serve subsequent terms. ● Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing outreach strategies. ● Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills ● A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives ● Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to manage by influence ● Maturity, and leadership with the ability to serve others and the community. ● Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants and other supporters. ● Self-starter, able to work independently; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS ● Successful completion of post-secondary education in related field (public relations, communications, media, marketing or related fields) ● Experience in digital media, advertising and social media including experience and proficiency with various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and/or other relevant programs and knowledge of best practices and trends. ● Ability to oversee and deliver on creative and professional content (written, graphic and video.) ● Excellent writing and editing skills. ● Effective independent and team skills with ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders. ● Able to work in a fast-paced environment with short timelines. ● Experience working with volunteers and not-for-profit organizations is an asset.
