Volunteer Committee Member

Monthly meetings, 2nd Thursday, 5:30 pm
The Volunteer Committee is a committee reporting to the Board via the Volunteer Committee Chair. The Committee assists the Board in developing and sustaining a strong volunteer component to achieve the purpose and goals of the Christmas Bureau by:
- Developing policies and procedures on the recruitment, selection, orientation, placement, training, supervision and recognition of volunteers that support a satisfying experience for volunteers and achievement of the Christmas Bureau's objectives. 
- Developing and implementing a Youth Engagement Program.
- Promote the use of volunteers in the work of the Bureau and encourage the design of challenging and satisfying volunteer jobs
- Assist in developing an operational plan for recruitment, orientation, training, supervision and recognition of Christmas Bureau volunteers ensuring adherence to the Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Volunteers will receive Christmas Bureau organization and committee orientation.
Ongoing training specific to projects will be provided.
Ongoing support from the Volunteer Coordinator and Chair of the Volunteer Committee will be provided.
Certification or Education Required
- Having a particular interest in youth volunteers or experience with engagement and retention of youth volunteers
- Outgoing and engaging personality
- Working with volunteers and providing policies and guidance in the recruitment, selection, orientation, placement, training, supervision and recognition of volunteers that support a meaningful experience 
- Not for profit committee experience
