The Family Program ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter is a new and exciting volunteer role with the Centre for Family Literacy.  This wonderful individual will join our team of fabulous family programmers by providing ASL interpretation to support families during online group programming. You can do all of this from the comfort of your own home! 

HELP!?!
You will support families who need an ASL (American Sign Language) interpreter during our online family programming. A Family Program Interpreter will help families and programmers communicate, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone!

WHAT IS DISTANCE LEARNING?
Distance learning is a way of learning remotely without being in regular face-to-face contact.  Our family programs currently take place online, by video call. You can help from home!

HOW MUCH TIME PER WEEK?
The ASL interpreter will spend a minimum of 1 hour per week supporting families in group programming. Currently this volunteer opportunity is needed on Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm, with the possibility of more time if interested.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE?
We are looking for a volunteer with previous experience acting as an ASL interpreter. If this is you- let’s get in touch!
