Content Strategist
Department or Team: Content Team
Works With: Director of Content & Board of Directors
Description of Role: The Content Strategist reviews data about our audience to ensure our content is relevant and engaging. They may work with the marketing team in order to determine how to expand the audience for their network. They provide the focus for the content to their team and oversee the distribution of this content through the platforms they work with. They also help ensure that their team meets production deadlines. This position enhances Canada Confesses’ capacity for creating content that will be compelling and appropriate for our intended audience.

Primary Responsibilities: 
Assigns at least 2 video briefs and 2 translation tasks each month.
Reviews & edits their work on a timely basis.
Ensures briefs are up to the best standard & in alignment with CC’s tone & values.
Monitors progress and checks in frequently with the content team.
Creates a monthly strategic plan and vision for the content team with the Editorial Director. 
Develop efficient workflows for the team, mapping out the content pipeline from ideation through publication and promotion.
Updates the social media editorial calendar to ensure everything is accurate.
Ensures all content being published fits CC’s communication style.
Communicates any content marketing ideas to the Director of Marketing.

Secondary Responsibilities: 
Complete an onboarding/orientation program.
Screen confessions.
Attend monthly board of director meetings & socials.
Assist the team with any content needs.
Report any concerns or conflicts to the CC Team.

Desired Experience: 
Experience with writing content or copy for social media. 
Previous experience managing a social media page or group is an asset.

Training:
Initial training and orientation will be provided, as well as additional support and training to be developed as the program grows.

Time Commitment: 
4-month commitment with room for more, if requested. Minimum of 2 hours per week. The schedule is flexible and accommodating.
