City Cleanup/Team Leader Saskatoon

Saskatoon, SK [map]
2-4 hours / weekly
Seasonal/Ongoing
We are an organization created for the purpose of cleaning up our environment and making our city and environments a better place. We are a dedicated group of volunteers that work individually or in teams in troubled spots to collect and properly dispose of garbage with the help of city and law enforcement partnerships. Better Environments operates within multiple cities globally, though we are primarily Canada based, we provide options for every volunteer no matter their location. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to complete volunteer hours for school, friends and families to get involved with their neighborhood's upkeep, or a valuable effort to include on your resume. Get active this summer with your community!

Work as much or as little as you want! We recommend 2-3 days a week for 2-3 hours each day. If you are outside of our currently scheduled location cleanups or in a different province, there are still opportunities for you to not only help your environment but lead and coordinate teams of your own!
Help us pick up garbage and stay safe.

Additional Details & Skills Required
No additional training required unless you are located outside of our regularly scheduled events, in which case you may need team management training that we provide online through a video conference. If you are looking to clean up on your own, we will provide you with solo training.

To participate in cleanups, you are required to have:
Suitable Clothing & Footwear (Long Sleeved/Weather Resistant)
PPE (Mask, Gloves, Eye Protection, etc.)
Certification or Education Required
If you live outside of Saskatoon or are interested in doing team events in locations we have not yet listed, you may be in charge of your local area's team.
You will need to organize and host your own events, coordinated through our website: www.betterenvironmentscanada.org/

For team & individual cleanups, you will need to be able to pick up garbage safely.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
This is a great community service opportunity to be able to help the environment. In small teams around the city or individually you can help us create a healthier, cleaner place to live.
