Do you love helping others improve their health and wellness, both physically and emotionally? Do you enjoy planning events and helping people connect with each other? Does the idea of working with independent adults with autism sound exciting and inspiring? Are you willing to commit five to ten hours per month to meeting as a committee and planning fun events and activities? The committee will meet once a month to plan health and wellness activities and social events. The planning will include advertising the event as well as coordinating and engaging volunteers as necessary to execute the planned activities and/or events.
What are the requirements? Enthusiasm, passion, excitement to learn and develop new skills, organized with a strong attention to detail. Experience with Autism would be preferred but not necessary as training or mentoring will be provided. You will be required to attend an interview for the position.
If you are interested in working in the disability field especially with adults with Autism, social work field, speech pathology, occupational therapy, recreational therapy or event planning, this opportunity can be a way to gain valuable experience. You will be working with a newly established committee whose members are very excited to get this going.
