Ainembabazi Children’s Project is looking for a promoter to support outreach and awareness of our annual fundraiser, Paddle the Sask, on August 15 2020. This fundraiser is a 40 km paddle from Devon to Edmonton’s Laurier Park; a challenging and fun day on the water to raise funds. This year, due to COVID19 impacts on Uganda, we are raising funds to provide food security needs to families in the country. The Paddle Promoter will support Ainembabazi through: Building and implementing an outreach and marketing strategy for the Paddle and identifying key timelines and milestones. Consistently engaging in outreach over social media (Twitter and Facebook) to raise the profile of the event and to encourage registration or donations. Development of digital graphics to support social media campaign. Development of a Paddle the Sask poster. Distribution of graphics/poster to various identified online targets to support participation. Outreach to Mailchimp email list to promote the fundraiser. Integration of graphics and information on the website.
The training will involve an orientation to Ainembabazi Children’s Project as well as a review and orientation to the Paddle Fundraiser.

Food scarcity and insecurity has increased in Uganda as a result of COVID19 and many are dealing with starvation and hopelessness. This effort will give hope but also put food in the belly of vulnerable and needy families and children. The volunteer will play an integral role in the success of the Paddle the Sask fundraiser. Promoting Paddle the Sask to diverse participants is essential to increase fundraiser registrations and boost donations.
