Help is needed: Mask Sewing
People in your neighbourhood need your help.
This position makes up a crucial portion of our Strathcona Good Food Box Project. The Campbell River Community Coordinator is in charge of liaising with Campbell River community members, collecting and managing orders/payments, and coordinating volunteers in the packing of boxes, as well as program participant box pick-up. This position is much more time-intensive than other program volunteer positions and therefore comes with an honorarium per round of orders. A bit about the program: This is a food security project that aims to make healthy, fresh food both financially and physically accessible. There are 6 communities participating in this project. This position is for the Campbell River portion only. Produce is bulk purchased and sent to a packing and distribution center in town. A team of produce box-packing volunteers will help to distribute the bulk produce amongst the boxes that people have pre-ordered, and program participants pick them up from said location. Volunteering for this program allows the price of the boxes to remain low--this is an important factor in making these boxes financially accessible to everyone. For inquiries or applications please email Katie at firstname.lastname@example.org
Other Community Coordinators have found this to be a very rewarding role. The coordination of this portion of the program provides a number of development/training opportunities, including Food Safety Level 1, volunteer team management, customer service, and general data recording.
