PLAN Calgary is seeking a new member to join our small, working Board of Directors. We are looking for a dynamic individual with experience in marketing and communications who can support us to grow our family base through relationships, partnerships and strategy. Due to the current restrictions in community, all Board meetings and sub-committee work is completed virtually.

PLAN Calgary is a non-profit parent-led organization, whose main objective is to secure the future of people of all abilities by creating a good life for people of all abilities now and in the tomorrow. We do this by building community around people of all abilities.

We are an asset-based community development organization. This means we leverage the strengths of our members, families, and broader community to encourage all people to celebrate the gifts and contributions that exist within them. We build connections around families with shared experiences and raise awareness about the importance of future planning for people of all abilities.

COMMITMENT: Our Board meets on average 10 times per year for approximately 2 hours. In addition, Board members attend our Annual General Meeting and will Chair a Marketing sub-committee designed to move our strategic priorities forward. Board members terms are 3 years with the opportunity to serve subsequent terms.
Certification or Education Required
Experience in disability sector, legal or marketing in a service-based or charitable capacity. Previous experience serving on a Board or an asset but not mandatory. Board members must provide a clear police check.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
PLAN helps families answer the question: “What will happen to your loved one with a disability when you are gone?”. We believe in building a strong community around people of all abilities by supporting them, their families, and caregivers to create future plans moving them from unprepared to peace of mind.
