Help is needed: Mask Sewing
People in your neighbourhood need your help.
The Oakridge Seniors Association in the SW community of Oakridge is building a Village Hub to provide practical assistance, social and educational activities to help our aging neighbours continue to remain in their homes and enjoy their network of friends and activities in the neighbourhood they love. We are funded by grants from the Government of Canada, New Horizon program and the Calgary Seniors’ Resource Society. We are part of a coalition of 9 organizations working on multi-year collective impact initiative. We are seeking experienced and collaborative leaders of all ages with experience working with youth, families, public health, event planning, faith groups and/or community service groups to join our working board to help us build our innovative program.
Volunteer board members will become part of the one of the first seniors' villages in Canada (based on the Village to Village movement https://www.vtvnetwork.org/). Our board members are contributing their experience and expertise to become part of this innovative program that will become a model for senior living communities across the country. During this pandemic, the need to address social isolation is great.
