Mental Health- Medical Director

10-20 hours / monthly
Ongoing/ 3year term
LOUD (let optimism unleash dreams) Art Society is an integration of mental health optimization, specialized therapeutic art programs and services. We are currently seeking motivated individuals that want to advocate for mental health, art, promote creative activities and connecting creative professionals and therapists with communities in Calgary. We partner and collaborate with artists, art-therapists, music-therapist and mindfulness coaches to deliver our services.

Our mission is: To connect and engage families, at risk youth and vulnerable individuals with art and creative activities , art-therapists and artists in order to prevent and cure anxiety, depression, self-harm, PTSD, eating disorders and optimize mental, physical and emotional health.
Our Vision is: To provide an easy and affordable access to art, practicing any form of creativity and art education for a creative and healthy lifestyle to as many communities as possible. 
We are looking for nominees who are passionate about creative and healthy living, any form of art and bring knowledge and/or skills in one or more areas of Board governance and leadership:
strategic planning, fiscal oversight, collaborative partnerships, fundraising, community outreach and engagement, advocacy, human resources, policy, law, IT and social media.

Directors are expected to:
-  Attend scheduled board meetings and contribute to the mission and vision of LOUD Art Society, art and cultural growth around creativity, higher emotional intelligence and optimism in Calgary and other potential locations
- To engage in generating revenue (from fundraising, collecting donations, sponsorships, membership, and sale of services) on behalf of the organization.
- The Board work as a team to support a sustainable funding model that integrates important partnerships within the corporate, education, nonprofits, government and arts service communities.

Mental Health- Medical Director

​We are looking for a dedicated mental health care professional to join our board. As a Mental Health Director you are looking for  the opportunity to truly make a difference in prevention of mental health disease and promotion of modern mental health and well-being . We take pride in being a provider of an innovative cognitive behavioral therapy and healthcare. To be a successful Medical Director, you should be dedicated to promoting the trust and professionalism of our organization within the community. The Medical Director will work to improve the overall care quality of our services and work to enhance relationships with stakeholders within the public health and industry

Responsibilities:
- Act as the medical voice of LOUD Art Society and take part in the discussion of  services and problem resolution as needed.
- Participate in the development and revision of health policies and procedures 
- Monitor the planning, development and implementation of  therapeutic programs by LOUD Art Society or contracted partners
- Provide advice in improving the therapeutic programs 
- Monitor the efforts of Mental Health Services to ensure  services are being provided in a professional manner. 
- Keeping your  research on Art and Mental Health, medical knowledge , experience, and licenses up to date.

Requirements:
- MA Degree or Doctorate in psychology or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Licensed (or license eligible with application pending) to practice psychology 
- Strong organizational and research skills
- Strong community health orientation and at least three years experience in primary care delivery and administration
- Previous experience serving on a nonprofit board is an asset.


This is a 3 year-term position serving as a board member 

Prior volunteer Board or committee leadership experience in one or more relevant sectors ( art organization, business, government, philanthropy, law, not-for-profit sector) is preferred but not mandatory.  LOUD Art Society is striving to build a  diverse and inclusive board
