Who are we? At LINKages, we believe in a strong and vibrant community where youth and seniors thrive. For more than 28 years LINKages has facilitated innovative intergenerational programs and services that encourage involvement, transfer of knowledge, and capitalizes on the strengths of youth and seniors to foster strong communities. The pandemic highlighted just how important these programs are for our youth and seniors. Our core values are more than words to us. They drive our daily actions and decisions. They are: Thought Leadership, Human Centred, Reciprocity, Inclusion, Volunteerism, and Empathy – THRIVE! LINKages is at an exciting time in our history. We are changing our business model, diversifying our revenue streams, and creating social enterprise initiatives to better respond to growing community needs. We are currently looking to fill the following volunteer director roles 1. Director at Large - ideally 5-7 years experience in any one of the following areas: Communications, Marketing, and/or Fund Development. 2. Treasurer – ideally 5-10 years of accounting experience and related designation (CPA/CA). A minimum 2 year commitment is required. For those interested, the potential exists to move into the role of Board Chair in early 2024. Who are you? Your values align with ours! You are interested in positively impacting the lives of seniors and youth by valuing their individual contributions and recognizing the power of intergenerations. You have the available time to commit to this important leadership role . You are passionate about making a difference, building stronger communities and giving back. Key Responsibilities Include: • Effective governance ensuring LINKages complies with all legal and regulatory requirements. • Prepare and actively participate in quarterly and special topic board meetings. • Participate on at least one board committee (with ensuing work required) and volunteer as initiative lead/partner on other priorities as required. A time commitment of approximately 8 hours per month will be required. • Understand and monitor the financial affairs, including the approval of LINKages’ budget. • Help promote and introduce LINKages to business and community connections and attend special events.
