Kerby Centre is a not-for-profit organization located in the heart of Calgary, committed to enhancing the ability of older adults to live healthy productive lives within the community. Since 1973, Kerby Centre has evolved into one of Canada’s flagship agencies: setting the standard for older adult services, information, and programming. We provide innovative health, wellness, and social service programs for more than 25,000 older adults each year. As we continue to expand our virtual programming we are finding more and more volunteer virtual volunteer opportunities. For this position we are looking for a volunteer to facilitate an online, pre-recorded dance class. What does that even mean!? The role of the zoom facilitator would be to: -Open the Zoom meeting and allow participants access from the Zoom waiting room -Welcome everyone and have a few mins of chit-chat -Share screen and show the video (20 min dance lesson) -Stop screen share and have a few more mins of conversation about the class -End session and sign out of Zoom account -1 class per week for 6 weeks, Monday afternoons preferably (flexible on time, preferably early afternoon but open to a night class too) The ideal volunteer for this position must: -Be confident with the Zoom platform -Love to "chat" with older adults in a group setting -Appreciation of dance/ballet is an asset Starting ASAP for training.
You will be required to have access to a reliable computer with camera and microphone capabilities.
