About Us: 
In 1997, Inn from the Cold was started by a small group of passionate Calgarians who were determined to change the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness. Since then, the Inn has become Calgary’s largest family emergency homeless shelter. We also provide affordable and supportive housing, and offer prevention and diversion support. 

Purpose: 
Help support our families with creative/innovative ways that make everyday life a little simpler.  Share your life hacks, any tips and tricks that make your everyday a little easier! Please keep in mind that this opportunity is available for recorded videos only. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Life Hack Lead Volunteers are responsible for: 
- Leading home improvement, repairs, tips or any general life hack activities through exciting/engaging home videos 
- Providing tips/tricks on how to tackle day-to-day tasks 
- Building supportive relationships and engaging with families through videos 
- Ensuring the confidentiality of any document, client information, or communication regarding the Inn and its guests is maintained 
- Communicating regularly with Volunteer Resources and/or the Health and Wellness team 

Skills and Qualifications: 

Life Hack Volunteers have/are: 
- Punctual and reliable 
- Great imagination and cool tips 
- Experience with necessary equipment for your life hacks
- Outgoing, engaging, and comfortable taking initiative
- Effective communication and organizational skills 
- Comfort and ease in a leadership position 
- Experience working with a marginalized population is an asset 

Time: 
Remote volunteer videos are typically between 10 – 30 minutes long; however, this is subject to the topic being presented. 

Orientation and Training: 
No training required. Orientation and support provided by the Volunteer Resources team. 

Supervision: 
Life Hack Leads report to the Volunteer Resources Department
