Monthly Volunteer Community Cleaning Crew Team

Do you love to clean? Do you love to organize? We are looking for a crew of people to teach, mentor and show the families at Elizabeth House how to keep their homes tidy. We are looking for people to come in monthly and support our residents while they clean their spaces. We would need you to be able to mentor the residents and also clean independently. 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the volunteer cleaner is to help us keep the interior and exterior of the home clean and tidy. This can include various tasks, such as: 
•	Vacuuming and sweeping 
•	Mopping floors 
•	Washing walls, windows, doors 
•	Sanitizing railings, handles and high touch surfaces 
•	Cleaning Kitchen areas 
•	Garbage collection 
•	Bathroom cleaning 
•	Fridge and Freezer cleaning 
•	Dusting 
•	Organizing and sorting toys
•	General tidying 
•	General Yard maintenance (tidying up outdoor spaces, watering plants) 
•	Other tasks as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector 
Confidentiality Agreement 
Volunteer Position Description and Agreement 
Over 18 years of age 
Able to stand for the duration of the shift 
Able to mentor/guide/support/role model to residents 
Able to lift and carry over 5 pounds and work at height 
Work within the shared spaces and not entering residents’ bedrooms 

PREFERRED SKILLS
Practical Cleaning Skills 
Ability to self-manage and work independently
