Event Coordinator (Virtual)

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The event coordinator role is very important to our Story Writing with Children project and
reports directly to the project manager. The event coordinator will be leading the
conversation with the children and help them create the elements of the story (characters,
story lines and etc). The event coordinator will also be overseeing the one-hour virtual
session and facilitating conversations and provide technical support and safety for children in
the meeting. Thus, the event coordinator role requires candidates to be patient and helpful to
the children, help them use their creativity and navigate different challenging situations, and
have the technical skills to ensure that the virtual meetings are executed smoothly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

● Organizing one-hour virtual session and take care of the logistics such as timeline and
attendance sheet
● Initiating and leading the conversation with the children during public meetings and
events
● Assisting children in their story writing such as helping them in creating characters
and story lines
● Ensuring the conversations among the children are safe and respectful
● Providing updates to the Project Manager and CEO over the time of the engagement
● Ensuring technical support and troubleshoot technical issues during live public events

Certification or Education Required

QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience working with children
● Proved knowledge and/or experience in children’s story writing
● Technical skills in virtual meeting platforms
● Passionate about children education
● Integrity, teamwork, community, creativity, and humour are mandatory values.
● Experience with organizing events will be considered as an asset
● Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
