Board of Directors Committee Volunteers
The CAUSE Canada Board of Directors is currently seeking new volunteers for Board of Director Committees including the Finance and Audit Committee; Governance Committee; Fund Development Committee; and Human Resources Committee. CAUSE Canada is a medium-size, international development, and relief organization with funding from the Global Affairs Canada, intergovernmental organizations such as UNICEF, small and large foundations, and individual private donors. For over 38 years, CAUSE Canada has worked to break the cycles of extreme poverty by partnering and building capacity with marginalized communities rooted in the organization’s values of faith, dignity, equity, and impact. As a Board Committee member, you will use your expertise and interests to make recommendations for the organization to the Board of Directors. You will participate in supporting the Board and the Executive Director in strategizing and fulfilling its leadership goals. We are looking to expand the number of members participating in each committee and, as such, are recruiting for multiple members on each committee. The CAUSE Canada Board of Directors are specifically recruiting volunteers with senior management experience and one or more of the following: - Professional designation related to finance, or law. - Experience as a volunteer or professional in fund development. - Previous experience working with an NGO. Expectations of Committee members: - Willingness to sign the CAUSE Canada’s Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct. - Attend and participate in bi-monthly scheduled meetings (usually 6 to 8 meetings per year, 1.5 hours in length) - Follow-up on action items between meetings (usually 1 to 2 hours of work per month).
