Vision Mate volunteers provide one-on-one sighted volunteer assistance and companionship to people in your community who are blind or partially sighted. They are paired for activities that can include reading, friendly visiting, walking, art or creative activities, shopping, and so many more. If you are someone who is looking to make that one-on-one connection and help someone within your community, this might be the opportunity for you. We look for volunteers who are friendly, positive, empathetic, responsible, and comfortable working with individuals with vision loss. Being a Vision Mate is a very flexible opportunity as we determine your schedule based on your availability along with the individual you are partnered with. We do ask for a minimum 6-month commitment for this role. Volunteers for this position must be a minimum of 14 years old.
