Treasurer of the Board

Did you know that every year 1 million children are identified with a developmental disability? We are proud to be launching  the 2nd edition of our fashion show benefit.
The professional Treasurer is an officer of the Board of Directors, Executive Committee member, and Director of the Finance Committee. Applicants must have a professional portfolio in accounting and treasury with charitable organization board experience, and philanthropic work.

Responsibilities include 1- Developing a or adapting the current strategic accounting, financial and treasury plan, including short and long term deliverables/KPIs for organization's sustainability, 2- Recruiting team members as needed to take part in Committee projects with the President as needed, 3- Overseeing the implementation of such a plan and supervising the Committee to ensure deliverables are met on time, 4- Reporting to the board quarterly on budget, forecasting, financials and/or other treasury matters, in compliance with the Income Tax Act.

Having a proven record in their field, and extensive treasury experience in charitable organizations is required.

The change you will bring with your volunteering is sustainability of the cause, contributing to bringing sooner rather than later relief, hope and empowerment to families living with a child at risk for or who has a disability.

Time Commitment: 30- to 60-minute meetings are held in person and/ or by telephone or video-conferencing on an as needed basis. Email and phone communications in between meetings are also used as needed. One- to two-hour board meetings are held quarterly in person. A three-hour AGM is held annually. The minimum time commitment is a three-year mandate, for a minimum of 24 hours per year or 2 hours per month. Scheduling is flexible. Letter of reference and attestation of hours worked available upon request.
Additional Details & Skills Required
Proven results in Accounting/ Treasury/ Finance and other growth strategies.
Proficiency in implementing Accounting/ Treasury/ Finance strategic plans. 
Excellence in trouble shooting during development, design, testing and plan launch.
Monthly or minimum quarterly reporting to the President and/or board.
Efficiency in using Excel and/ or Simply Accounting, an asset.
Certification or Education Required
Chartered Public Accounting or equivalent degree or relevant degree
Experience in charitable organization treasury and board experience
