Program Manager

4-6 hours / weekly
Minimum 6 months commitment
Bright Lights For Africa is a Canadian registered charity and non-governmental organization, whose vision is to empower marginalized and vulnerable individuals through acts of love, compassion, and generosity, regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. We serve both local and international communities and focus on tackling root causes of poverty to create sustainable and lasting change in the lives of those we serve.

Bright Lights For Africa has an exciting volunteer opportunity for a Program Manager! You will work remotely, about 6 hours per week and will assist with the management of volunteers and development of our programs.

Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Experience managing volunteers or staff within an organization includes recruitment, onboarding, coaching
- Experience with program development and management
- Effective organizational and time management skills 
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS office
- Strong relationship management and communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail is required
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently 
- Interest in non-profit work, international issues and philanthropy

Job duties:
- Recruit, onboard, coach and develop a network of volunteers to support BLFA projects
- Serve as a point of contact for volunteers - ensure that they are meeting project timelines
- Works closely with the founder and other BLFA team members to plan program and activities timelines for the year
- Develop programs and initiatives that will positively impact the lives of those we serve
- Represent BLFA as needed during stakeholder meetings and engagements
- Support the development of funding applications as needed.
