The SkyPointe Hospice is a unique community that offers high-quality, compassionate, person-centered care in a culturally rich and diverse community. Our vision is to provide a home-like environment that offers a peaceful and supportive atmosphere for end-of-life care. In hospice, we treat the person rather than the disease and focuses on your quality of life, surrounding residents with a team of professionals who help manage pain and symptoms as well as supporting emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

Volunteers will be the first to support residents at AgeCare Skypointe, Calgary's new NE 15-bed Hospice. See our photo tour at https://www.agecare.ca/community/agecare-skypointe/hospice-care/#tour

This in-person volunteer role will receive ongoing training and professional development focus on resident and family companionship. Experience with long-term care or end of life is preferred however, interested applicants can begin their volunteer experience through companioning long-term care residents in the same building with SkyPoint's Recreation team.

If an applicant has experienced the loss of a loved one in the past year we encourage involvement with an AgeCare Recreation Program before transitioning to the Hospice Volunteer Program to afford a period of remembrance and transition. Flexible shifts during weekdays, evenings, and weekends will be available.
Shift times will be 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm or 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
