Volunteer Grant Writer

We are seeking an energetic, committed and hands-on individual to fill the position of volunteer Grant Writer.  If you are looking for an opportunity to prove yourself, gain grant writing experience, and give back to the community, this position is perfect for you.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong interest in grant writing, as well as knowledge around funding streams and corporate sponsorship.  This person will work to expand awareness of a charitable youth mentorship program in Calgary. 

Primary Responsibilities:
•       Locate and connect with potential funding sources
•       Generate content for grant applications with the support of the Executive Director 

Education and Skills:
•       A post-secondary education in English or a related field (graduate or current student)
•       Work experience as a grant writer preferred 
•       Relationship building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and a Board of Directors
•       Excellent written communication skills 
•       Strong research and organizational skills
