ARK is looking for a Grant Researcher to join our team. Do you like research? Do you want to make a tangible impact with a child and their family? We have an opportunity for you! We are looking for a volunteer Grant Researcher to support the Fund Development Team. You would help research, prepare, and edit grant proposals. This opportunity offers plenty of flexibility and creativity and to take parts of a project and make it your own. (ARK) Accessibility Renovations for Kids is a Calgary charity, whose goal is to ease the daily lives of children with mobility challenges by renovating or modifying their family home to make it more accessible. Grant researchers help ARK make a greater impact to more kids by allowing us to fund more projects. The ideal candidate is a gifted researcher that can match what ARK stands for with grant requirements and find suitable grants for us to apply to. Applicable grants are distributed throughout the Fund Development Team, and the team puts funding applications together. Previous experience in research is considered an asset, but not necessary. Time Commitment: Approximately 3 hours per week Responsibilities: • Research potential funding sources from local, provincial, and federal grants and through corporate giving programs. • Work with Fund Development Team to obtain necessary information for proposals/grants and applications. • Maintain funding opportunity spreadsheet, activity tracking system, and related confidential files. Qualities & Skills: • Strong organizational skills, time management and internet research skills. • An ability to work well under pressure; self-motivated, detail-oriented • Non-profit fundraising and professional writing experience is preferred. • Computer skills. • Strong work ethic. • Committed and takes volunteerism seriously. • Last but not least you must be willing to have fun because volunteering with us is awesome * Candidates should be located in Calgary or Southern Alberta.
