Job Description:

As an Ophthalmology Teacher Assistant, you will support instructors in educating students about ophthalmology—the branch of medicine focused on the anatomy, functions, and diseases of the eyes. Your role will involve helping create engaging lessons, organizing teaching resources, and fostering curiosity about the visual system and eye care.

Responsibilities:

•	Assist instructors in teaching foundational topics such as the anatomy of the eye, vision 
        science, common eye disorders, and treatments.
•	Help develop interactive teaching materials, including case studies, virtual lab activities, 
        and diagnostic exercises.
•	Provide additional academic support to students through one-on-one or group 
        assistance on ophthalmology topics.
•	Organize and prepare virtual teaching materials, ensuring alignment with course 
        objectives.
•	Collaborate with instructors to grade assignments and provide constructive feedback 
        to students.
•	Facilitate discussions on advancements in ophthalmology, including new surgical 
        techniques, vision correction technologies, and eye disease prevention.
•	Manage digital learning tools and platforms to ensure smooth delivery of virtual 
        classes.

Qualifications:

•	Pursuing or holding a degree in Ophthalmology, Medicine, Optometry, Biomedical 
        Sciences, or a related healthcare field.
•	Strong knowledge of eye anatomy, physiology, and ophthalmic diagnostic techniques.
•	Excellent communication skills for explaining complex topics in an engaging and 
        accessible manner.
•	Familiarity with online teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Classroom) and related 
        digital tools.
•	Prior experience in mentoring, tutoring, or assisting in an educational setting is an 
        asset.
•	Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing teaching resources.

Requirements:

•	Recent Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance Check.
•	Access to a reliable internet connection and a computer with video conferencing 
        capabilities.
•	A genuine passion for education and inspiring students to explore the field of 
        ophthalmology.
