VOLUNTEER EDUCATION PROGRAM CONTENT CREATOR - PHYSICS

4 hours / weekly
2-3 months
The STEM Montessori Academy of Canada (SMAC) is a registered not for profit regional science technology engineering and math (STEM) program open to all students with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application. The STEM program will educate students from preschool to high school. The SMAC will specialize in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum that emphasizes the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
Based on the foundations of Physics and the fundamentals of learning the subject, we are seeking a Volunteer Education Program Content Creator who can assist us with our curriculum planning for K – 8 students in the discipline of Physics.

Duties: 
Creating a 20-minute lesson plan on subjects that will be provided pertaining to implementation of Physics based course content. 
Assisting with coordination and support of curriculum for classes. 
Help to coordinate content for our online learning management system.
Planning of course duration and content. 
Help to coordinate partnerships for educational workshops and training.

Requirements:
Highly collaborative style; experience developing and executing class programming.
Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills.
A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives.
Relationship builder with the flexibility and finesse to "manage by influence.”
Self-starter, able to work independently; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives.

Time Commitment: 
4 hours per week for 2 to 3 months

Other Qualifications:
Applicants must have an understanding of charitable and not-for-profit organizations.
