STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, bar-none STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Position Title: Volunteer Dean of Medical Sciences - Organ-Specific Physiology and Clinical Sciences.

Reports To: Executive Director, STEM Canada

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: 4 hours per week

STEM Canada is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable individual to join our team as the Dean of Medical Sciences, specializing in Organ-Specific Physiology and Clinical Sciences. This volunteer position involves leading, developing, and enhancing our curriculum in key areas of organ-specific physiology and clinical sciences, with a focus on fostering a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students aged 8-17.

The dean will play a vital role in supporting STEM Canada’s mission to inspire and prepare the next generation of students for advanced studies and careers in medical sciences. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead academic content development, mentor educators, and collaborate with other academic deans in a dynamic, growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:
•	Curriculum Development: Design and oversee a robust curriculum focused on organ- 
        specific physiology and clinical sciences, including the subjects of Cardiovascular 
        Physiology, Respiratory Physiology, Renal Physiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, 
        and Dermatology.
•	Educational Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to volunteer instructors, 
        fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring high-quality teaching 
        methodologies.
•	Program Coordination: Collaborate with other deans and academic leaders to align 
        the medical sciences curriculum with STEM Canada’s educational standards and 
        objectives.
•	Student Engagement: Develop programs and initiatives to engage students in 
        interactive and practical learning experiences related to human physiology and clinical 
        sciences.
•	Evaluation and Improvement: Regularly assess and update curriculum content and 
        teaching materials based on current research and feedback from students and 
        educators.
•	Outreach and Community Building: Participate in STEM Canada outreach activities to 
        raise awareness of the medical sciences program, including recruitment of students 
        and promotion of STEM Canada’s initiatives.

Qualifications:
•	Advanced degree in Medicine, Medical Sciences, Physiology, or a related field.
•	Experience in educational program development, teaching, or academic leadership.
•	In-depth knowledge of the specific physiological systems: cardiovascular, respiratory, 
        renal, gastroenterology, hematology, and dermatology.
•	Strong communication and organizational skills.
•	Passionate about STEM education and youth development.

Preferred Qualifications:
•	Experience working with youth in an educational or mentorship capacity.
•	Familiarity with virtual learning platforms and digital curriculum development.
•	Background in volunteer or community-driven educational programs.
