The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results.

Job Title: Volunteer Dean of Medical Science - Foundational Sciences (Ages 8-17)

Reports to: Board of Advisors

Position Purpose:
The Volunteer Dean of Medical Science for ages 8-17 serves as a mentor and leader, creating and leading science programs for youth, training volunteer instructors, and promoting curiosity through virtual learning activities. This role is key to providing a high-quality foundational science education for students, fostering their scientific and personal growth in an online setting.

Qualifications:
- Commitment to the platform’s mission and values.
- Passion for teaching youth in a virtual setting.
- Ability to lead and work with volunteers to deliver age-appropriate content.
- Strong enthusiasm, adaptability, patience, and a supportive approach when working with 
  diverse student groups.
- Experience in designing and leading youth-centered medical science programs or 
  lessons.
- Experience supervising educational staff or volunteers.
- At least one season of leadership in youth education or relevant program experience is 
  preferred.

Educational Leadership:
- Plan and lead engaging online learning experiences for students ages 8-17, ensuring 
  developmental and educational outcomes are met.
- Cultivate a positive, inclusive environment that encourages curiosity and enthusiasm for 
  foundational sciences.
- Collaborate with teachers to align educational content and activities with platform goals 
  and the developmental needs of learners.

Program Design:
- Develop age-appropriate lessons and hands-on activities for two age groups: 8-12 and 13- 
  17.
- Use interactive methods, including experiments, demonstrations, games, and virtual - 
  simulations, to enhance understanding and interest in foundational sciences.
- Adjust content and teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure 
  accessibility and inclusion for all students.

Volunteer Training and Mentorship:
- Support and guide volunteers by providing feedback, resources, and opportunities for 
  collaboration.
- Serve as a resource for instructors and volunteers, offering tools and strategies to optimize 
  student engagement and learning outcomes.

Safety and Well-Being:
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and encouraging virtual learning environment where students 
  feel valued and respected.
- Be responsive to students' social-emotional needs, learning challenges, and group 
  dynamics, resolving concerns with professionalism.
- Uphold platform policies related to online safety, privacy, and student conduct, modeling 
  ethical behavior for students, teachers, and volunteers.

Role Model:
- Follow and uphold ethical guidelines, demonstrating integrity and professionalism in all 
  interactions.
- Foster a culture of respect, curiosity, and enthusiasm for science, promoting positive 
  dialogue and collaboration.

Leadership Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for instructors and staff, ensuring alignment with 
  program goals and fostering positive youth engagement.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure volunteers are properly supported, providing necessary 
  tools, encouragement, and structured plans for successful educational experiences.
- Lead virtual meetings with volunteers to review progress, discuss challenges, and 
  celebrate successes.
- Assign instructional responsibilities to volunteers, providing ongoing coaching and 
  resources to ensure their success.
- Report any student concerns or incidents, including safety or well-being issues, to the 
  Program Director and collaborate on appropriate interventions.
