STEM Canada is a registered not-for-profit global program specializing in an advanced, STEM-based educational curriculum emphasizing the interconnected subject areas of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). The STEM program is open to all students from preschool to high school with the mission to deliver top-notch STEM literacy and application, designed to teach students in the STEM fields, yielding globally competitive results. Position Overview: The Biochemistry Teaching Assistant supports faculty in teaching undergraduate biochemistry courses, conducting laboratory sessions, and assisting students with course material. Key Responsibilities: • Lab Instruction: Conduct laboratory sessions, demonstrate biochemical techniques, and ensure safety protocols. • Teaching and Lead discussion sessions, hold office hours and assist with course materials preparation. • Grading: Grade assignments, lab reports, and exams on time. • Safety Management: Enforce lab safety rules and maintain equipment. • Experiment Preparation: Prepare chemical reagents and maintain laboratory instruments. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, or a closely related field; graduate students preferred. • Strong understanding of biochemistry concepts and laboratory techniques. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Previous teaching or tutoring experience is a plus. • Ability to explain complex biochemical concepts clearly to diverse audiences. • Proficiency in using specialized laboratory equipment and software. • Knowledge of safety protocols and chemical hygiene regulations.
